Is an experienced educationalist who has operated academic and vocational training institutes for over three decades. He considers hospitality requires a high intensity of governance and scrutiny that is given to other traditional academic areas such as Engineering and Commerce. While stressing on the importance of modern training methods, he believes that no short cuts are to be taken when delivering International certifications that will equip students to compete with the rest of the world.
Dr. SK PremaratneAcademic Advisor
Dr S.K. Premaratne is also the Dept Head of Hotel & Tourism Management at Thames College London. He overlooks all Syllabuses and assessments at Swiss Lanka Hotel School. Dr. S.K is a leading figure in the hospitality circles of Sri Lanka and is a firm believer that it is essential to revise curriculums and training methods to pair up with the fast changing industry norms. His current research areas includes Tourism sustainably and eco tourism.
Wijegoonewardana also overlooks all the Industrial placements of Swiss Lanka' students. With an illustrious career in hospitality – that has spanned over 4 decades – he’s a product of the Sri Lanka Tourist Board. His highlights include the management of the Bentota resort and pioneering several training projects for the Government’ Tourism authority. Currently he is focused on leadership training for students and is a well known figure amongst the leading hotels and the stakeholders of the local tourism Industry .
